A weekly session is a small slice of the week. What happens at home in between gives your child many more chances to practice.
What to ask your SLP
Which sound, and at what level — sound alone, syllables, words or sentences?
Which word positions (start, middle, end)?
How many tries, and how should I respond to errors?
Is there anything I should avoid?
A short daily slot
Five minutes most days is realistic and adds up. Practicing more often in small doses is generally more manageable than one long weekend session.
Stay encouraging
Model the target, invite a try, praise the effort. Leave detailed correction to the plan your SLP gives you.
Share what you did
SoundSprout's dashboard records practice days, sessions and words, and you can print a practice summary for your SLP. It shows home activity, not accuracy.
Where SoundSprout fits
SoundSprout is a practice companion. Choose the sound your SLP is targeting, and use it alongside — never instead of — the plan they give you.
SoundSprout is guided daily practice for one speech sound: ten words, about five minutes, with a warm voice modeling every word. Up to five children per account.
