Who it's for

Information for speech-language pathologists

If a family asks whether SoundSprout fits their home program, here's a straightforward description.

What families practice

  • Supported targets: R, S, L, TH, SH, CH, K, G, F, V, Z, Blends
  • Ten words per daily session, mixing word positions
  • Each word is modeled by a narrator, then the child makes one or two attempts
  • The parent selects the target sound and can change it any time

What it doesn't do

  • No assessment, diagnosis or pronunciation scoring
  • No audio recording or upload of the child's voice
  • No cueing hierarchy, phonological-approach selection or goal setting — that remains your clinical judgment

What you can see

Families can print a practice summary showing practice days, sessions completed and words practiced — useful context for home-practice frequency.

Design principles

Short, frequent sessions, clear auditory models and effort-based reinforcement, informed by the motor-learning and parent-involvement literature. See our methodology page for references.
